Mary was such a wonderful lady, and will always have a special place in my heart and in the hearts of all of our caregivers that served her. She has certainly had her ups and downs over the years, but that is what made Mary always interesting, and the strong character that she was. I always loved Mary's stories, and we had many good laughs together over the years. I can remember inviting Mary out to join our day program while the Seniors' centre was closed. At first she was reluctant, but it wasn't long before she made some new friends and looked forward to regular visits! Mary always made an impression. It was such an honour to a part of this lovely lady's life. May you rest in peace, Mary. Your friend, Harvey Harvey Dix Memories+ Home Healthcare .

That is such a beautiful picture of Mary! She has known me since the day I was born and she has always and will always hold a place in my heart.. I enjoyed when my Mum and I would drop in for a visit. She is a very special lady and I know she was always there for support and friendship for my Mum when I was growing up just two doors down from her and Stefan. A friendship that never ended! There are lots of memories as a child going through the bushes at the back of the house to come for a visit. And Mary always always had candy in the candy dish on her coffee table. :) As you are all missing her so very much, take comfort that she has reunited with your Dad/Grandpa and her grandson. I am most assured she will continue to watch over her whole family as she was so very proud of you all! I could tell during our visits when she updated Mum and I on everyone. :) I am sorry that I cannot make the funeral as I have commitments I can't get out of. :( But I will be there in my thoughts and prayers. But just know that my heart goes out to each of you, as although Mary was 96 years old, she is still your Mom, your Grandma and your Great Grandma. Take comfort in remembering all your special memories. I just know that heaven just gained another angel. Love Candi xoxo (Dow)

What a wonderful lady Mrs Simurda was. I somehow remember the candy dish too.....when we werent causing trouble for Mr Simurda with the Brinkos boys and Peter Dykie, growing up on Simcoe rd. Deepest condolences, Tony Tomizza and family
