So sorry to hear of Bob's Passing. He was a great mentor for me and someone who truly believed in hard work and having fun at work!
I would call in with him from time to time but haven't for a few years.
We worked together In Thompson at Birthctree Mine in 2002-2004 where he was the Contractor superintendent and then I worked directly for him at Snap lake Diamond Project in 2006 (photo, I'm sure Bob is cracking a joke in this).
We remember those great mentors throughout our life and I certainly count Bob as one of those for me.
"I'm feeling anxious, I haven't fired anyone all week!" Big Bad Bob!

Just by a chance I encountered the news that cousin Bobby had passed away. Please accept our warmest condolences upon the passing of Bobby to all of you: Judy, Linda, Lars, Loklin and the rest of the family.
I have the warmest of memories from the tour to Canada, which i made with aunt Katri and cousin Irma during the summer of 1975 to meet uncle Oskari and Senja in Geraldton. Please accept our thanks from those days we were guests in your home in Holland Landing and also about the visit to Toronto, where cousin Bobby acted as our most pleasant tour guide.
Let me also pass on the deepest condolences from aunt Katri, who now solely remains of the 12 siblings, and who is turning 98 this november. There still remains 19 cousins of Bobby and 52 second cousins for Linda, Lars and Loklin in the Laakso family in Finland.
From Seppo and Elina Kataja, children Marika Kataja-Lian, Miika Kataja

My condolences to Judy and the family. Bob was a faithful supporter of the Haileybury School of Mines and for years was one of the largest private donors to the O. E. Walli Foundation for student scholarships. My fellow professor, now-deceased Merv Lavigne, always spoke highly of Trapper. Bob helped a lot of others follow their dreams.

I have just found out about Bob from my folks , Alan and Betty Bowes. They were neighbours of Oscar and Senia on Wild Goose Road in Geraldton. Visiting my parents every summer I had the pleasure of meeting Oscar, Senia, Judy and Bob. So very sorry for your loss, and also passing on condolences from my folks, who now reside in Huntsville.

My condolences to you Judy, and your family. My parents, Aate and Martha Tiitto were very good friends of Senja and Oscar when they lived in Geraldton 1937-1944. They spoke fondly of Bobby often as a toddler. I met up with him in 1995 in Kirkland Lake in a restaurant. We were speaking Finnish and he introduced himself and was shocked that I was the daughter of the Tiitto's. I met him once before when I was 11, attending a wedding in Geraldton. May you always treasure the memories of Bobby.
