Obituary of Marie Louise Cook

It is with greatest sadness that we must tell you that our beloved Marie Louise Cook has taken flight on the wings of a hummingbird on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024.

Marie was born in Weston on October 1st, 1941 to Mildred and Percy Elcome. Marie was the loving wife of Keith Cook for 63 years and wonderful and loving mom of Janice (Danny Thompson), Doug (Marie) and Keith (Anne-Marie). She adored her grandchildren Lindsay, Mitchell (Christina), Tyler (Chrissi), Stephanie (Ryan), Amanda (Ryan), step grandchildren Shane (Jaime) and Casey. She was always beaming with pride and joy when talking about her 12 great grandchildren Serenity, Leah, Willa, Maya, Addilynn, Wesley, Rowan, Dawson, Wyatt, Ethan, Drayson, Zariyah and Aaliyah. Marie will be sadly missed by her brothers Paul (Barb) and Jim Elcome, her brother-in-law Don Cook (Barb), her Great Auntie Barb Elcome, her many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Marie worked for the OPP for 27 years located in Bradford and then Beeton. She was a faithful hockey mom and later in life enjoyed golfing. She loved her winters in Florida, her pool in the summer and hosting parties for their many friends. She enjoyed her gardens and loved hydrangeas and hummingbirds.

Even though she is no longer here with us Marie will remain in our hearts forever.

A celebration of Marie's life will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 2-4 p.m.
