Bill Lundy

Obituary of Bill Lundy

Bill peacefully passed away at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 92 years of age.

Beloved Husband of late Beatrice (nee Lotto). Loving Dad of late Mary, late Joseph (Lili), Peggy (Mike) Kanyo, and Chris (Karen). Proud Grandpa of Liana (Neil), Joseph (Danielle), Philip; Melissa (Brad), Michael (Fontane); Laura (Mike) and Kristine (Tyler). Cherished Great Grandpa of Noah, Ava, Brooke, Darcie, Presley, Stella, Hudson, Deacon and Theo.

Dad worked on the Lotto family farm then decided to be a carpenter.  He worked for Johnston Brothers and various general contracting companies in Toronto.  Later he branched out on his own and started Bill Lundy and Son Contracting in 1979 after his son Chris graduated high school, adding his son-in-law Mike Kanyo a couple years later. Together the three built custom homes and worked on various insurance restorations. Dad always supported our careers over the years.  If any of his grandchildren, nieces or nephews needed work on their home, Dad would be there. Dad’s life was rich with friends and family. He loved his many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and playing cards with friends and family.  Dad enjoyed travelling with his nephews and close friends over the years, with Florida and Nashville being his favourite places. He always welcomed anyone to live in the house on Essa Street with a little nudge from Mom and the door was always open to anyone who came over. He was tough on the outside but, a marshmallow on the inside and a little stubborn.

We appreciate all the support from our close family and friends. We would like to thank Dr. Kuzmyk and Southlake Regional Health Centre staff for the care they provided for our father. Special thanks to the Skwarchuk family and staff for everything you did for us, it will never be forgotten.

Memorial visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Road, Bradford on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m.

In Bill's memory, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
