My Mom, Phyllis Bell and Mary met when Mary came to Bradford as a teen and worked at Cousins Creamery on the lunch counter, where Mom was also working, as a bookkeeper. They developed a close friendship that would span over 70 years.
"The Lunney's" was the only place my family was ever invited for dinner, as Mary welcomed another 5 children in the house. We were always excited to go as it meant a game of baseball after dinner while the adults played Euchre.
Mary has always held a special place in my heart. I took my Grandchildren to visit her while she was at the Barton and Newmarket Health Centre. I wanted them to know her, and she know them.
Mary loved her family deeply and often spoke of all the wonderful memories she had.
I will keep my memories of Mary tucked safely in my heart.
