Obituary of Daniel da Ponte Viveiros

Daniel peacefully passed away with family by his side, at his residence, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 83 years of age.

Beloved husband of Maria for 60 years. Loving father of Lucy (John) Balugas, Danny (Paula) Viveiros, Natalie (Roger) Oliveira, Robert Viveiros, and Elizabeth (John) Arruda. Proud Vovô of Mason (Vanessa), Cassandra (Décio), Nadine, Makayla (Haitham), Vanessa (Justin), Melissa (Breanen), Nathan (Emily), Joshua (Erin), Christian, and Haley (Blake). Cherished Great Vovô of Keanu, Miquéias, Tanner, Daniel, and Winnifred. Dear brother of late Maria (late Francisco), Joe (Lucia), Manuel (Fatima), and late Gil. Dear brother-in-law of late Luis (Maria) Da Luz Ferreira. Daniel will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, Godsons, and Goddaughters.

The family would like to extend our gratitude to nurse practitioner Joanne Matte, Dr. Alex Gabor as well as the personal support workers from Care Partners and Bayshore. We wouldn’t be able to do it without you.

Visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Road, Bradford on Monday, March 18, 2024 from­­ 3-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Martyrs of Japan Church, 167 Essa St., Bradford on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Martyrs Cemetery, Bradford.

In Daniel’s memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Simcoe County.
