I have very fond memories of playing bridge with George at the Gates of Bayview and Thornhill bridge clubs. He was always a true gentleman and was very supportive of players who were new to the game. He certainly was a larger than life character but only from a very positive perspective. He will certainly be missed by his many friends at the bridge clubs. May he rest in peace.

We have fond memories of George during our years at St. John’s United Church in Pointe Claire. George was very good at keeping in touch with former members and we appreciated his emails and occasional phone calls. We extend our deepest sympathy to the family. Marilyn and David Watters

Larger than life is a good way to describe Mr. Jackson. As a guest to the cottage at Lac Gagnon and a friend of his eldest daughter, his greatest satisfaction (my guess and not necessarily the truth!) was to have a young lad transport the "honey bucket" up a steep hill and dump it into a pit. That bucket always seemed to be a little too full. 'Swashbuckling' with the bucket was the polite way of describing the adventure. I am sure that George trucked that darn bucket up the hill many a time but he was sure happy when his daughters brought along their young male friends to do it for him. May you rest in peace George. You will be missed.

I always saw George as a very warm-hearted person and just a bit larger than life. He made a strong impression on me through his efforts to make me feel welcome in the family (as a relative late-comer), and he always made an effort to connect whenever there was an opportunity to do so. Sending deep condolences to all of the family members.

I was a classmate of George’s at RMC and we spent 3 years in the Stone Frigate, doubling across the Square when we wanted to do almost everything while in first year and always properly dressed and marching across in all years. I have fond memories of George and of our times together. He always was ready for an adventure. A wonderful man.

Dear Jean and family. Sorry to hear of George's passing. Fond memories from years gone by when you visited on Hurd Street.
Throughout later years George would email me with interesting historical facts of old Bradford.
Jean ,Mourn not too long that he is gone but REJOICE forever that he was.
