We are so shocked and saddened on hearing the news of Eric's passing. Eric was the most lovely person, we were fortunate to have had the pleasure of his company when himself and Sheelagh visited Ireland in June 2011 to catch up with all the Irish relations, we have very fond memories of sing songs, day trips to Donegal and nights out for a meals together. Myself and Eric kept in touch through Facebook but Eric and Sheelagh always sent us wonderful letters at Christmas time telling us about life and their family in Canada, it always came on the most beautiful paper and we always looked forward to receiving them. Our Children always had the most beautiful musical Christmas cards from Canada which we will treasure. They also had a beautiful book and cd of Puff The Magic Dragon sent all the way from Canada. We always hoped that Eric & Sheelagh would return for another visit. Myself and Eric would always talk about the snow in Canada and he sent me so many picturesque images, we don't get snow very much in Ireland and I was always jealous of the amount that Eric had, he was telling me about the height it would be on the driveway. He and Sheelagh always took a great interest in our kids growing up and of all their milestones over the years they even have Olympics Canadian Mittens. Eric always signed off our messages and letters The Canadians and we are really going to miss him very much, the world was a much nicer place with Eric in it. We offer our deepest heartfelt condolences to Sheelagh and all of the family, our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this heartbreaking time.
Lots of love Carol, Lee, Morgan & Daniel xxx

Our hearts have been broken since hearing the news of Eric’s passing. Words have escaped us since coming to terms of this news. To Sheelagh, his children and grand-children, brother and all family members, we stand beside you in grief and support for the times ahead of living a life now , missing this incredible man.
Well done faithful servant.
Our hearts and minds respond to this great loss, but our faith assures us that Eric has finally passed into the arms of his great love of Jesus.
A man that gave it all to those around him, at work, with family, friends, his churches, and community. Always steadfast in his commitment to those in need, to those he stood beside, to those he rescued, to those for whom he cared. Everyone who knew him were recipients of his humour, his light, his faith.
We are missing you dearly.
We rest assured that you have now joined the team in Heaven, the great choir of angels, the greatest worship service ever!
With love
Darlene and John Campbell and all our family

Please accept our heartfelt condolences to Eric's family, and especially his wife Sheelagh. Eric was our neighbour for years in Stouffville and will be remembered for his great sense of wry humour and spontaneous laughter.

Dad,
We miss you very much and you left a void that could never be filled. We are heartbroken to say the least but still surprised you left us so suddenly. You have always been so strong in so many ways and so active we never expected you not to be around to see Magnus growing up. You were an excellent role model for so many of us. I am so grateful that you came into my life. You took care of us all, especially mom in a way that we dearly admire. I am heartbroken and miss you tons. We will always remember how it felt to be loved by you.
“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.”
Love your son Mark, your daughter Priyani and your grandson Magnus

I knew Eric through his love of Dandie Dinmont Terriers and as a member/director of the DDTCC. I had a great deal of respect for him as he was a kind and caring man always ready to give a helping hand. I extend my sincere condolences to his family at this difficult time.

Wonderful Adams moments, Tuesday nights on the Wagg Road with Eric on guitar, many nights on the 401 off to TACF, or south to St Ninians, together we fell in love with Jesus and our little group drew so close to one another as we grew in faith.
Eric is now Strumming and singing on heavens worship team. Missed by all he left behind.. Pam

Eric was a long time Ontario director of the Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club of Canada, and our most generous and dedicated member. He could always be seen willingly in the centre of activity, whether it was delivering and erecting the club’s canopies at the Uxbridge Scottish Festival or being responsible for our unique cuddling parlour at our various dog shows. Our club relied on him for all our events, as Eric was always there for us.
Eric took his dogs everywhere with him, and enjoyed their long walks together. He was so proud of his Dandie Dinmont, Redmond, who won the male veteran class at our championship show last November. Redmond was one of several champions that were lucky enough to live in the Adams household. Eric’s Sparky won our Specialty in 2014. The 2010 show was dedicated to his dear Jamieson.
Our next Specialty, the 25th biennial show, will be in November of 2024. As the club’s Silver Anniversary show, it will be dedicated to Eric Adams.

My husband, Clancy and I have been dear friends with Sheelagh and Eric for 30 years. Over that time, they had a successive, consecutive number of six Dandie Dinmont Terriers. Eric was dedicated to this rare breed.
Eric’s incredible kindness knew no bounds. He spent his days doing good deeds, whether it was shovelling a neighbour’s walk or taking a friend to a medical appointment. He was the epitome of what it means to be a true Christian.
During Clancy’s illness with ALS, Eric was always there for us. An ex-firefighter, he had the experience to help Clancy up during his many dreadful falls. Towards the end of Clancy’s life, Eric generously took over some of the small household chores Clancy was unable to fulfill. After Clancy’s death, he became my stalwart, always there to help and assist in any way he could. I felt so protected.
It is said that you never know how tall and great a mighty Oak is, until it is fallen.
We are heartbroken, to lose such a great man, such a loyal friend.
Rest in peace, dear Eric. We mourn your passing. You were simply the best.
Mike Macbeth

Cheryl and I have had the pleasure of being neighbors with Eric and Sheelagh. Neighbors for almost 10 years. Eric was there to help Cheryl when she was home after an illness 6 years ago. I met them just over 4 years ago. We would deliver baking, meals and always helped each other out. Eric called us the "BNE's" (Best Neighbors Ever) and we called them that as well. We enjoyed dinners out at our favorite restaurants, at each others homes and always talking out on the driveway. We will miss Eric and will continue to be "BNE's" for Sheelagh. Our condolences to Eric's family and friends. What an amazing and caring person. Rest in Peace.
