Dear Gary and family
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mary and it brought back warm memories of Weston Presbyterian Church and that community. I considered going to the Memorial service today, but I drive less now. I recall being with you all for dinner one evening when the girls taught me how to make French onion soup which I still make just as they taught me. I imagine they learned how to make it from Mary. I remember her as a kind, good-natured, and fun-loving person. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during these sad days. With warm greetings, Mary Helen Garvin.

We are thinking of the entire Seagrave clan at this difficult time. Mary's big smile and friendly wave will truly be missed on the beach, and I know your evening fireside chats will not be the same. Love, Sean, Jeanette, Owen, Denise, and Troy.

I was very saddened to hear about Aunt Mary the kindest and nicest person that was also very funny and cheerful. One time when the family gathered at the Seagrave house, my brothers and I were talking about a time when my father had died. We were trying to figure out who had looked after us for this time period of about a month when our mother had gone away due to stress. My older brothers didn't know and Jim and I were too young to know. So we were trying to figure it out when aunt Mary sort of came up to the conversation area and listened for a minute then pipes in cheerfully, "Ohh that was me." She lived at the house and looked after us every day and it was now about twenty years later and we just found out. She never said anything never courted praise or anything really she just stepped up took it on and helped our family. I will never forget her kindness and good humour always fun and just a joy to be around. Bless her always. Sorry that my job keeps me in Austria so I cannot attend but will be thinking of everyone over these days.

Dear Gary and family,
We are devastated to learn that Mary passed away last week. We always so enjoyed our interactions with you, Gary, and with your lovely wife. She had phoned us not so long ago to say that you would drop in for a visit with us in Snow Valley (just off George Johnston Rd.,along Seadon Rd. quite near Barrie Hill Farms) on the way to your cottage at Woodland Beach ~ she suggested that the spring would be a great time to meet at our place. So many good memories with you and of you ~~ at St. John's Church (enjoying your wonderful piano playing and choir direction), preparing and serving dinners or special events there, our frequent dinners and outings at the home of Robin and Linda Saunders, and our get-togethers every September in Niagara-on-the-Lake when you would come down to see Shaw Festival Theatre shows and have dinners or lunches with us while we lived there during those times. Our hearts are very sore with the shock of losing such a precious friend and with the fact that you have lost a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister who loved you all so much. Mary was such a talented, giving person in so many ways.
Always in our hearts,
Gord and Iris Marriott,
Reilly's Run,

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
Mary was so loved by all who knew her. She truly cared about people and her genuine compassion was felt by all. I have very fond memories of her at the family cottage. More recently, i loved learning of Mary's childhood time at Shaw's Creek.
Memories of her will be carried in my heart always. She was rightfully proud of her incredible family.
Sharing in your sorrow.

Dear Gary, Catherine and family, Carolyn snd family, Gillian and family and David and family,
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincerest condolences on the loss of your wife/mother.
I remember the gentleness and kindness of your mother. She welcomed me into your home many a time when you lived on Westmount Pk Rd. The yearly Christmas Open Houses were a highlight.
The many times your mom and dad would pick me up to take me to Our Scottish Country Dance classes with Mrs Findlay, and to the youth group meetings at Weston Presbyterian Church are remembered fondly in my heart.
I remember how your mom loved going to the Scottish Country dance Balls. She loved to read and to sew. She was always sewing a new costume for all the Scottish Country Dance Demonstrations we did about the city. Your mom was a good cook too and I remember your Friday night pizza from scratch night.
Your mom and dad made a great team. Your mom fully supported all that your dad was involved in. He not only help down a very important position at Kodak Camera but was also Choir director at the church. And if that was not enough he loved to put together the candlelight and wine concert nights at the church. They were so much fun and your mom and dad loved to do that together.
When I think back to my childhood, your family leave a great warmth in my memories and I will always be thankful for your mother and all that she meant to me.
I send you all my love and will pray for you all as you grieve the loss of your precious wife/mom. Hugs to you all
