In Loving Memory of Sophia Kulha
November 3, 1937 – October 23, 2022
It is with great sadness that we share Sophia’s peaceful passing on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Georgian Bay Seniors Lodge, Penetanguishene, at 84 years of age after fighting a brave battle with cancer.
Dearly loved, Sophia is survived by Granddaughter Erin Dafos, Daughter in law, Kathryn Dafos (John), brothers, Victor Stanley (Mary-Kay, née Chown), Paul Stanley (Margaret, née Fradcham), Robert Stanley (Laurel Rajnauth), sisters, Christina Mladenovich (Peter), Mary Koenne, Doris Stanley, and many nieces and nephews. Sophia is preceded in death by her brother Albert Stanley, first husband Chris Dafos, Son, John Dafos, (husband to Kathryn, and father to Erin) and her second husband, Michael Kulha.
Sophia will be fondly remembered for her witty humour and kindness. She loved travel and spent happy times visiting countries around the world with her beloved second husband, Michael. An accomplished entrepreneur, Sophie and first husband, Chris operated several restaurants, and successful travel agency in Bradford. Sophie’s greatest pride was her grand-daughter Erin with whom she developed a special bond.
Visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Road, Bradford on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 1 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 2 p.m.
Interment will follow at Holy Martyrs of Japan Catholic Cemetery, 2952 Ninth Line, Bradford on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 10 a.m.
In Sophie’s memory, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society and/or Ronald McDonald House.
