Obituary of Jack Hambly
John (Jack) Herbert Hambly passed away peacefully with family by his side at Matthews House in Alliston, on Friday September 16, 2022, at the age of 83. Born July 7th, 1939, in Cookstown to John F. and Mary Hambly. Beloved husband of Margaret Rose Hambly for 58 years. Loving father of John H. Hambly (Cristina) and Jane Beattie (John). Proud grandfather of Alexa, John, Christopher, Ashley and Brandon and great grandfather of Ethan Paul and Austin Jack. Brother to the late Robert Hambly and Judith Marie Denton. Jack will also be fondly remembered by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Jack dedicated his life to farming, his family and his community. From horses to horsepower Jack contributed to generations of farming and set precedents for the following generations. Jack enjoyed spending time with family especially travelling with his wife and motor home camping with his grandchildren. John and Jack shared a love of farming and collecting tractors. Jane and Jack could always be found sharing a sweet treat together and shared a love of fun cars. Jack enjoyed taking part in his community through Junior Farmer’s, 4-H, International Plowing Match as well as car and tractors shows. His many contributions to the community and contagious smile will be greatly missed.
Jack was an avid member of the Coulson’s Hill Anglican Church. A private family service will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home followed by the interment at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022, between 1:00 and 4:00 pm at the Fairview Barn located at 2196 Line 11, Bradford.
