Obituary of Ruth Louise Johnston (nee Brittain)

Peacefully passed away in Belleville on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 94 years of age. Beloved wife of late Ken Johnston and late Don Lawson. Loving mom of Ann (late Wally) Van Os, Lynn (Dave) Parker, June Johnston (late Lockie Owens) and Lori (Barry) Peters. Proud grandma of Kirk (Jeraldine), Jill (Mike), Lucy (Brenden), McKenna, Keegan, Shane and Troy (Brooke). Cherished GG of Leah, Wally, Addison and Harvey.

Ruth was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and spent her early years there. She met her husband Ken, during the war, when he was stationed in Nova Scotia. Together they moved to Ontario where they raised their 4 daughters. Ruth will be remembered as a kind and generous person who always had a smile for everyone. 

A private family graveside service will be held at Newmarket Cemetery.
