I am so very sorry to hear of Tony's passing. We lived close by in Mount Albert and would often see Tony. I remember him firstly as being Carolyn's sweetie, a Red Hat hubby who both indulged her and her friends, and a lovely human being. My sincere heartfelt condolences to all his family and friends. God speed. Tony is free now and at peace.

The time that I’ve known Tony, I have learned to see how kind a man he was, a husband and a friend. When I would arrive to work, it would be a pleasure to greet him and get his smile. Even though I went up to the third floor, I would go once in a while to see him. See how he’s doing, he would give me a big smile and I would shake his hand. I felt very sad when his lovely wife Caroline called me and told me that Tony had passed away. I was very very sad but at the same time it gave me some relief to know that he’s resting in peace. I will always cherish the moments that I spent with Tony. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers and I’m sure wherever he is right now, he’s watching over his loving wife. Good bye Tony RIP from Monica and Jake

I am grateful to be able to call Tony family. In the 36 years Tony and Carolyn were together we all got to know Tony was much more than just a gentle sweet man. He was smart and creative, we called him MacGyver as he would create something out of nothing. Furniture pieces, lighting anything around their house. He was a whiz when it came to electronics.
He was a dancer and I loved watching Carolyn and Tony work the dance floor. There is something to be said about a man that can move like that. He also loved so many genres of music.
He loved his animals and embraced each funny little character trait they had. Any cat or dog that lived with Carolyn and Tony was spoiled. From a cat that walked the neighbourhood with them to a dog that would take her own leash when they walked her, they always seem to have “fur babies” with interesting little personalities.
Tony took pride in their home in Mt. Albert. He loved living in the country and puttering about. They always hosted our annual Thanksgiving celebration and loved having people at their home. Their annual corn roast was also a highlight.
I loved how Carolyn and Tony were with one another. They called each other sweetie and you could tell they shared a love that was special. It’s true they did hold hands all the time and she did hold his hand until he took his last breath. Watching this brilliant mind struggle with this disease was crushing. I’m grateful to have had him as my brother-in-law. I will miss his infectious laugh and his sweet smile.
Until we meet again, love you Tony.
Love Sharon xo

I still remember the night we went to the Seniors Place in Newmarket and I asked Tony if he would mind having a dance with me. We graciously accepted and what a truly wonderful dance (or 2) experience we had. I also had the opportunity to dance with Tony at your anniversary a couple of years of ago. Man - that guy could really dance. Bob and I will miss his smile, his genuine good humour and his warm personality even when he wasn't still the old Tony. Even as alzheimer's took more of him away from us, he was still our Tony shining behind that dreadful illness he had to cope with.
Our deepest thoughts are with you Carolyn,
Mary & Bob Somerset

We never met Tony, but we did know him as Carolyn's Sweetie. We heard lots of wonderful stories, but most of all we heard the love the two of you shared.
